Raeburn Flerlage was the elder statesman of Blues photography. He spent his entire career close to music, as a writer and music reviewer, concert organizer, radio host, record wholesaler and photographer. Ray had the opportunity to photograph many of the all-time great blues, jazz, and folk music artists. His photographs of blues musicians in Chicago clubs, concerts, portrait sittings, rehearsal and recording sessions portray an intimate history of American blues music from 1959 through 1973.
